Dear Coach JJ:
I worked as a secretary about seven years ago until I decided to stay home and raise my children.  I want to get back to working again but am insecure about my job skills, especially since computer use has advanced so much.  What should I do?

You have the interest and the background in office work. You just need to update your skills. First, contact your local city/county technical school and enroll in their administrative assistant certificate program or take business software courses in word processing, spreadsheets, publishing, internet research, etc a la carte. This will not only give you the latest software skills but will connect you with people who can help with your job search. Lastly, update your resume. We can help you with that. Good luck!
